I have been spending entirely too much time lately car shopping, and it has led to some interesting finds, but this might be one of the more unique ones. So how about this big, thicc boi for my next daily?

VPG MV-1

This is a VPG MV-1. It was designed as a handicap accessible taxi vehicle. This, being a 2014, it should have a Ford 4.6L V8 engine and 4 speed auto. At $25k its right in my price range, too.

There was one for sale near me with crazy high mileage and a roached interior for under $4k. It was somewhat tempting, but if I was going this route, I think I’d really rather have a Checker.

The c ombination of body on frame construction and road hugging weight does make for a very smooth ride, and of course, limousine space in the back.

It could be fun to convert into, I dunno, something, with all that space in the back.

I knew a guy in high school that rocked a Checker, it was pretty cool.

That green color you can see in the sills is something else. It's something, not something I'd want, but something.

I didn't pay it much attention at first, but it appears it was in some kind of taxi livery, and they just did a quick black spray over it.

No, I have no need for them. I just like ridiculous cars and this one caught my eye. In all honesty it would be rather low on my list of cars to buy. Like basically the bottom.

In black, these would be a solid basis for the taxi of a dystopian future. I’ve always wondered why I’ve never seen one on the big screen in that role. It’s unfamiliar enough that the vast majority of people would have no idea what is was too.

These are from guys I know, both are good, clean cars. Both are at the top of their price range but they are one of the best examples put there...

I was looking at C5 and C6 Z06s last night.  I think the C5 is the better looking car, but that LS7...

I’m not that sold on the LS7...you basically pay double tbe money to get a C6Z compared to a C5Z and they basically sound the same....and if you want, you can make a LS6 make 450-475  whp with heads, cam, long tubes which should make it close enough to the LS7
